Gain experience in how to integrate these concepts so that they can be understood and transferred across a variety of situations and applied to the participant’s everyday activities.
Feedback:
Understanding these concepts better has made a difference in our lives at home, and for Mark, most definitely at school. To have some new skills and understanding of all the concepts brings more peace and calm. We have had many breakthroughs. Homework time is spent more efficiently and not in breakdowns! We are learning how to interact and communicate better as a family. The program was an amazing gift for both Mark and I.
Mom, ADHD son
Part of the gift of my autism is the ability to come up with new and creative ideas.
Prior to the course I would plan, procrastinate, get frustrated, quit and go into a slump.
Taking this course, as an adult, gave me the ability to plan, create and follow through… things I couldn‘t do before.
Also, people make more sense now… Thanks
Adult, struggling with executive functioning (undiagnosed)

Sarah is continuing to develop verbally, her report card commented that she is now, “Too chatty.” …NEVER thought that could happen!
She is showing more interest in the world and making more observations about the world around her. She also is showing more willingness to learn.

Years of anger, tears, hitting, screaming, fear and hiding…
Our family has been through overwhelming turmoil.
Now, I feel like we have a new family. Words to describe our house that have NEVER been used before…
Orderly, peaceful, calm.
Mom, autism, 13 year old
“I brought my son in for a program when we were at our wits end. He was yelling, arguing, biting, broke a window and basically turning our family upside-down. Meltdowns were happening every time we wanted to do something or go somewhere. We took the program 6 months ago. Our Rocky Point Academy facilitator, never once brought up any of these behaviors specifically, but instead focused on what things ‘could’ be like. I noticed right away that he was calmer and less aggressive; however, not in my wildest dreams did I expect what we got… it has been half a year and there has not been one meltdown or outburst! Of course, he doesn’t agree to everything, but we now have a way of getting to the root, making the needed change and moving forward. He is going new places, trying new things, taking on chores without being asked, is willing to give up his iPad to do things, and is getting himself up and ready for school without a fight. Such a huge difference and all without force or negativity! I never thought this could be possible. I always ‘loved’ my son, but now I can ‘enjoy’ him every day. Thank you!!!”

Davis Life Concepts for Autism Workshop
An introductory program developed for parents, family members and support persons of an individual on the autism spectrum, adult autistic individuals who are looking for a self-development program, or anyone who is interested in helping a person with autism through the Davis Autism Approach®.
Implement the Learning Readiness Tools (link), support the development of self-awareness (link) and learn how to facilitate the developmental and social concepts. Gain experience in how to integrate these concepts so that they can be understood and transferred across a variety of situations and applied to the participant’s everyday activities.
Feedback:
The biggest surprise about this program is how much it helps the whole family- not just our child on the spectrum.
Our whole life has become more orderly, calmer, kinder and closer.
Solving problems has become logical instead of emotional, and because of that, my autistic daughter willingly participates as we work together to find a solution.
I think everyone, autistic or not, can benefit immensely from this work!
Mom, autism, 18 year old
This program has changed our life. Matt is much more relaxed and happy. We have seen a huge difference in his impulsivity- rather than acting before thinking- he now considers and weighs the consequences. He has made real friends.
Mom, autism, age 8
